Mondrich Syarief graduated from Domus Academy Milan - Master in Service and Experience Design and Tarumanagara - Bachelor of Art in Interior Design. He has worked on various types of design projects during his time in Singapore, Milan and Hong Kong. Besides his work experience, design thinking has strengthened him to be more intuitive, by recognizing the pattern and constructing ideas that are emotionally meaningful as well as functional. Through Studio Piu, he has the opportunity to explore his creativity, develop skills and unfold the unexpected chances.
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER Karina Tjandra
Graduated from University of Huddersfield (UK), a collaborative institution with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore), Karina Tjandra has since lent her award-winning talent to an array of interior design projects. She has worked with several firms and talented people in Asia, including Singapore, Indonesia and China. Her portfolio includes residential and hospitality projects, which become the centre of her professional journey. Through Studio Piu, she strives to share and realize her design vision at the national and international level.
Studio Piu has designed for the public area and guestrooms for Novotel Ngurah Rai Bali. Located at the Ngurah Rai Airport, the lobby reception is a long double-volume space that stretches to the bar and dining area. Feature walls, wooden vertical lines and playful pattern on the ceiling helps to define the contemporary look of the hotel.
Studio Piu has designed the guestrooms of Pullman Bali Legian Nirwarna, featuring a more contemporary look on the hotel's rooms. This renovation project includes all types of rooms such as the Deluxe, Grand Deluxe and the Suite Rooms.
Studio Piu has created an iconic box in common working space of Prudential office. Located at Central Park, Jakarta, this office has allowed users to convert the common space to be a training centre if needed. Team leaders are able to discuss and meet in the leaders' working space.
Studio Piu has designed for Mujigae Restaurant at Istana Plaza, Bandung. The use of wood is intended to create a warm and welcoming interior. Blue and red colour has added some contrast to the contemporary interior.
Studio Piu is commisioned to design for Prudential office that is located at Dea Tower, Jakarta. The reception lobby allows users to enter a different area of either the working & common space or the training space which has a stage. Overall colour scheme is a combination of black, grey and a touch of red.
