The lighting company has launched a guide with the most iconic lighting projects implemented in Barcelona. More than 50 professionals exchanged experiences and ideas on lighting projects for the hospitality industry
On 21 June, the “Barcelona, Light for all” guide was launched at an event on the Hotel Condes’ Alaire Terrace –an ideal setting– in the heart of Barcelona. More than 50 architects, interior designers and professionals from the lighting industry gathered at the launch of the guide, which features a trail of the top iconic locations in Barcelona with lighting by LEDS C4.
Josep Sabaté, the Area Manager of LEDS C4 and promoter of the guide, headed the event. During his talk, he highlighted some of the main differentiating features of the projects, implemented in collaboration with renowned teams of architects, interior designers and lighting designers, many of whom were present.
The event’s location in Barcelona’s Hotel Condes, a 19th-century mansion transformed into a modern 4-star hotel, is one of the lighting projects featured in the guide, a project that was conducted jointly with Mercè Borell. The interior designer talked about her experience of working with LEDS C4 and the special-projects team to reflect on how they successfully overcame the challenge of producing and, especially, of installing the spectacular 20-metre, double-spiral luminaire, in the hotel’s main stairway.
Birgit Walter, the lighting designer for projects that include the Bellavista Jardín del Norte and the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I, also talked about the unique character of the lighting in one of the most spectacular 5-star hotels in Barcelona. Alongside the project’s architect Julio López, they emphasised how the LEDS C4 team had been fully involved in and committed to the project, which was a key reason why it had been a success.
At the end of the launch, cocktails were served by the chef Martín Berasategui, bringing the event to a close.
