Located on the island of Bali, this residence was designed to fulfill the needs of a Holiday Home to a small happy family. This strip of land is surrounded by a typical tropical environment including Balis cultural soundtrack in the background. The river flowing past the site gives this piece of land a tranquil feature to its crowded surroundings in North Kuta.

In a coffee break discussion, the client mentioned that they will frequently visit Bali for their Holidays and to monitor one of their businesses here. With this in mind, we rolled up our sleeves and thought of a unique concept to a simple request from the client. First things first, the residence will require a minimum of 3 Bedrooms to accommodate this family with 2 children. Looking at this great site, we thought that it would be a great idea to share this tropical living space with many people, we then decided that it would be possible to make this residence rentable at times when the client is currently not around.

Next on the list was the unique architectural concept. The idea was that this house would embrace every space tropically, so that the person inside that space may enjoy the balinese surroundings and experience a tropical life. We brought simple shapes into play, staggering one block over the other, by doing so we created open spaces underneath these blocks which then acted as the main spaces of the residence, the Living/Dining space. Talking about materials, we wanted to use simple and locally crafted materials such as local stones, and local wood, and to make a special architectural feature, a local balinese raw brick pattern was adopted into this project.

Located on the tropical island of Lombok, Krandangan Hotel will be 15 minutes away from the famous Senggigi art market. This Hotel sits on a unique terrain which also happens to be a coconut tree plantation with hundreds of coconut trees spread on this 1 hectare land. Since we are very concerned about nature and the environment in our works, we designed this hotel around and integrated with the hundreds of coconut trees, and moving only 10 trees to a new location, by doing so we made the coconut trees the main concept and feature of this project. Planned as a 4 star boutique hotel providing a very tropical sense and atmosphere throughout the entire design. Open public spaces designed outside-in and inside-out, 60 spacious rooms with balcony and lots of daylight from both sides and 5 tranquil villas with 1 or 2 bedrooms and a large living room are presented on this unique terrain and contour of the site.
